Scripture: Judges 2:10-11 "After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the LORD or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel. 11 The Israelites did evil in the LORD’s sight and served the images of Baal. 12 They abandoned the LORD..." Observations: So after God's people settle in the Promised Land (with the Canaanites they had not driven out) it was only a matter of time before their tolerance for the religous beliefs and practices of their culture were absorbed by the next generation. The first generation that had previously pledged their wholehearted obedience to God's Word (Joshua 24) eventually died and left their children to inherit the Land God had given them. The only problem though was that they not only inherited the Promised Land but also the influence of the Canaanites living in it! Because they had not fully obeyed God's command to conquer their enemies with the Lords' help, the battles not won by the firs...
